BOOK DESIGN

I'm very comfortable and experienced in designing every aspect of a book project, from producing initial presentation spreads to the printed book. I can commission photographers, illustrators, food stylists or picture researchers for the project. I can liase with the author, editor and production dept as necessary. I have the technical expertise with page layout software usually in Indesign or maybe Jacket designs in Photoshop. And finally sending print-ready pdfs to the repro house, checking proofs or liasing with printers.

I've designed illustrated books on a huge range of subjects:food and drink; gardening; sport such as cycling, fishing and sailing; health and fitness; hobbies; parenting and for children.

I've art directed studio and location photography e.g 'Complete Bike Book', 'World Food Cafe' , 'Better Back'. I've commisioned illustrations e.g 'Bonding with your Bump', 'Better Back', 'Gluten-free Cookbook'.
